Standard Catalog of Lionel Trains 1900-1942 Buy this book! October 6, 2009 John C. Taylor As an antique dealer I purchase many price catalogs. I am frequently dissapointed in the pictures, text, pricing, or completeness of the catalog. This catalog was easy to use, had picures of every entry, detailed descriptions of every entry, including minor differences of items with the same Lionel number. As far as I could tell EVERY item was included. Every item had pricing in various conditions.
This catalog is an excellent investment!
Informative and fun guide September 12, 2009 Anthony Biegen (Santa Barbara, CA USA) My father passed away a year ago and left a rather large collection of Lionel trains. I bought this book to try to determine the value (not for sale) of his collection. All of the trains were there with a description of purpose, model and years made. It was a lot of fun just learning about the trains and seeing them presented in this great book. We are not planning on selling the trains but now we know what we have - more than just the value.
Worth the Price September 16, 2008 John Adivari (Jersey boy stuck in Dixie) An excellent addition to your library. Lots of photos, and information, to enhanse your enjoyment of the hobby!
You will enjoy this book!
Another Flawless Transaction August 9, 2008 David E. Wintermyer (Ca. USA) The book was delivered very quickly. The seller took great care to protect the book during shipping as the book arrived in perfect condition.
Most complete Lionel Train book 1900-1942 July 4, 2008 Peter Brownsey (Lowville, NY USA) David Dole has accurately researched the prewar era of Lionel Trains in detail with descriptions and great photos. If you are collector or just interested in old toy trains young or old you will enjoy this book. The pictures of the actual trains and copies of pages from the old catalogs are worth buying the book for. My grandchildren love looking at David Doyle's book on Lionel Trains.
