Part 10: Jeff introduces more accessories, more music, and the next five inductees into the Toy Train Hall of Fame. Other segments include the Sugar Cane Train in Hawaii and a narrow gauge Shay steamer in LaPorte, Indiana. Part 11: We start with the story of the New York Central?s revered streamlined steam locomotives. See the Commodore Vanderbilt, Mercury, 20th Century Limited, and Empire State Express in all their streamlined glory. Also featured is the modern BNSF railroad, a visit to an aquarium in Maui, fast and exciting racecars (including the Prewar Lionel slotcars and modern Scalextric models), mystifying train magic performed by Jeff, and Vinnie the train-loving dummy returns to run his trains blindfolded! See the five new Postwar inductees into the All-American Toy Train Hall of Fame. If you like the Blue Comet, you will love the James Coffey song ?Choo Choo Blues? along with two other great new songs he?s performed for this video. Finally, aliens visit toy train land and decide it?s more fun to ride on a train than in a spaceship. Part 12: We begin with a look back at the beautiful bicentennial trains created for the 200th birthday of the United States in 1976. Front and center is the most famous of these special trains--the American Freedom Train. This train was headed by the Southern Pacific Gs-4 streamlined steam locomotive. It made a cross-country trek, pulling thirteen special cars carrying artifacts of the nation?s history. Also featured are the streamlined diesels of the 1930s, when diesels were just beginning to make their case as the motive power of choice for the railroads. Across the country, the sleek speeding machines sliced through speed records and captured the interest of a nation coping with the Great Depression. They became symbols of American industrial pride and served to ignite a spark in railroad transportation.

Is A DVD-R that does not play on newer systems June 17, 2010 M. Tedeschi (NYC) Our 2 year old loves parts 1-9. So we purchased the rest for his birthday. However this set is not a manufactured DVD, but a DVD-R (so it has a blue sheen). It did not play on 2 DVD players and 1 computer. Only our oldest computer could read it. While this happens with recordable discs sometimes, one does not often see this in things bought from Amazon. the production/ casing says " approaching 2 million sold" and "DVD video" not DVD-R.
A real dissapointment and we will not be buying any other TMBV products in the future
Huge hit with kids May 28, 2010 L. Thai I don't think my son has watched anything else since we got this movie. Now he wants to start collecting model trains. Personally, the movie drives me crazy, but my four year old and one year are in love. It's pretty educational too. This is his favorite volume too.
We love toy trains! February 2, 2010 Emily Bishop (Utah) We love this dvd as well as #4-5-6. These series are great for kids who love trains or things with wheels in general, and I think they're entertaining for adults as well. Love the commentary (learn a lot!) and love the music! My kids watch them over and over.
The Best January 4, 2010 Diane Courts (Dublin, PA USA) If you children love trains, these dvd's are the best. My son loves them, and I even liked watching them. Very fun and educational at the same time.
Love the trains! November 12, 2009 MMV (Round Lake, IL) My son loves all of these videos!! He'll watch them over and over. Even though they are mostly the same, he knows which one has his favorite trains. It's great entertainment for him!
